Strychnos colubrina L. (Loganiaceae) is being used in traditional medicine for a variety of ailments. The aim of this research was to explore the anti-arthritic potential of this selected plant material. Two successive and two crude extract of its bark were subjected for in-vitro anti-arthritic activity using inhibition of protein denaturation method. The successive methanol extract have shown potent anti-arthritic activity by inhibition of protein denaturation method with 0.024±0.00145 and 0.0190±0.00115 (mean±S.E.M) for 100 and 250 µg/ml, respectively. The crude methanol has shown significant anti-arthritic activity by bovine serum denaturation method. All the concentrations prepared were paving dose dependent anti-arthritic activity.
